Facebook Testing: From Instagram’s new algorithmic feed to Facebook shutting down the mobile web version of Messenger, it seems like all your go-to social media apps have been undergoing a ton of changes. But good news: You may actually like the latest feature Facebook is testing out.
SocialTimes first reported the new tool, which allows users to send up to 10 of their friends a notification about posts they might be interested in.

This tiny change doesn’t seem like a big deal, but think about it: This means your friends will no longer have to tag you in a post to make you aware of it (read: no more clogging up your timeline with pointless memes), and they won’t have to mention you in the comments anymore (so no more spamming said post’s comments, allowing for actual discussion).
A Facebook spokesperson shared some details about the possible new feature with SocialTimes: “When you make a post that is particularly interesting to certain friends, you want to make sure they see it. Instead of tagging friends in the post or the comments section, we’re testing a more discreet option to alert them of your post by sending them a notification.”
Sounds good to us.
