When you’re trying to stick to a budget, cheap clothes are your savior. Online shopping can be a great way to score some serious deals, but sadly, women are now getting scammed by websites that promote cheap clothes, but don’t follow through.
BuzzFeed reports that China-based retailers like Zaful, SammyDress, DressLily, RoseGal, RoseWe, TideBuy, Choies, and RomWe have ripped off thousands of customers. People are lured in by ads–mostly on Facebook–promising affordable, trendy clothing, but what they receive is nowhere near what they ordered.
Top Trendy Clothing Retailers Are Scamming Thousands of People Online
These websites steal product images from other brands, then list the items on their own websites for dirt cheap. This image of a PromGirl dress was stolen, then listed for only $10.30 on Rose Wholesale’s website, but what the girl actually got in the mail looked nothing like the picture.
Customers are taking to Facebook to warn others about the scam and are even petitioning PayPal to get their money back. But until these websites are (hopefully) shut down, be cautious while online shopping: if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
